Hello, I’m Satori!

II tell stories I haven’t heard yet.

Most people think of role-playing as a social pastime. A group setting off on an adventure together. That’s the classic image.

But you can also role-play on your own. Solo role-playing means: you embody a character, you explore the world, you react to what unfolds – without fellow players, without anyone to provide the world for you.

This isn’t a gamebook where you choose between predefined paths and eventually know all the endings.

The game world isn’t pre-made – it only comes into being through the game itself. The central tool for this is the Oracle: a method for asking questions of the game world and receiving answers you cannot foresee yourself. Usually through dice. The Oracle answers. Yes. No. Or it throws a random event into the scene – something you would never have chosen yourself.

And that is precisely what makes it special: you relinquish some control over the story. The dice have a say. What emerges is not a story you know – but one you discover.

With that in mind, I warmly welcome you to “ausgewürfelt!”, the German podcast for solo role-playing.
